How To Prevent Heart Disease, Cancer And More

Learn health benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar and Turmeric and how a simple and affordable drink will help you stay healthy.

Most of the diseases we all fear, diseases that decimate us, start with a chronic inflammation. When the inflammation goes on unnoticed and uncontrolled – as it’s often the case – it begets heart disease, cancer or Alzheimer’s disease, to name some of the leading killers.

There isn’t any one foolproof cure that can unequivocally save everyone from any of those diseases once diagnosed. There is however a simple and affordable drink, anyone can drink daily that holds a lot of promise, not as a cure but as a great preventative measure.

The drink consists of:

  • 1 liter of filtered water
  • 2-3 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar
  • half a teaspoon of Turmeric
  • a dash of black pepper or Peppercorn

Before you knock it, let me explain the operating principles of the drink.

Health Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is recognized for its numerous health benefits since the times of Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine. It has a long safety and effectiveness record.

Many old beliefs about health benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar are being confirmed by today’s science.

Now we know that Apple Cider Vinegar:

  • stimulates circulation
  • helps detoxify the liver
  • supports the lymphatic system
  • prevents allergies
  • helps remedy candida
  • is a great remedy for heartburn
  • stabilizes sugar levels and improves insulin sensitivity
  • lowers cholesterol
  • lowers blood pressure
  • most importantly: Apple Cider Vinegar increases the body’s pH level, making it more alkaline. According to what we know today: inflammation, heart disease and even cancer thrive in acidic environment. Making your body more alkaline makes it disease-unfriendly.

Health Benefits of Turmeric

Turmeric is a part of the ginger family. It has been used for thousands of years in India and Asia as a natural remedy (among other illnesses, in the treatment of jaundice) and as a dye. Used in religious rituals, Turmeric stands for life and success.

The Westerners ignored it for a long time. (We used it Turmeric to make pH paper and as a coloring agent for our medicines, but didn’t bother exploring its healing properties.)

Turmeric (and its active component Curcumin) is renowned not only by the peoples who grow it and used it the longest, it is gaining recognition of the scientific community, too.

The main health benefits of Curcumin are:

  • Curcumin prevents diseases of the brain: the Indians and Chinese who used turmeric for millennia have no – or extremely low – incidence of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Yes, the explanation of this amazing effect of Curcumin is available: Curcumin increases the levels of (BDNF), a type of brain growth hormone. (If you recall the debate on anti-aging properties of growth hormones, you’ll see the parallel here: growth hormones are credited with preserving – if not quite youth than – full functionality.)
  • As an antioxidant, Curcumin has the ability to not only block free radicals but to mobilize the body’s own free radicals’ defenses (antioxidant enzymes).
  • Curcumin fights chronic inflammation (the underlying cause of most dreaded diseases) as effectively as some prescription drugs, but without the harmful side effects.

Among other health benefits of Turmeric (and its active component Curcumin) are:

  • Turmeric supports the functionality of gallbladder, stimulates its contractions and improves bile flow
  • Curcumin plays a role in preventing and fighting cancer (it actually has the ability to destroy cancer cells!)
  • Curcumin improves the functionality of blood vessels’ lining and consequently, cardiovascular health
  • Curcumins helps maintain balanced blood sugar levels
  • Curcumin is said to relieve the symptoms of arthritis and depression

Once again, the Apple Cider Vinegar and Turmeric drink I myself drink throughout the day and recommend to you consists of:

  • 1 liter of filtered water
  • 2-3 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar
  • half a teaspoon of Turmeric
  • a dash of black pepper or Peppercorn (to improve absorption of Curcumin)

How to prepare the Apple Cider Vinegar and Turmeric drink?

  • bring water to a boil
  • add Turmeric and a dash of pepper
  • simmer the water with Turmeric for 5 minutes
  • add 2-3 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar
  • let it cool
  • store in the refrigerator

The drink has a pleasant taste, is hydrating, energizing and refreshing, easy to make and cheap.

Some practitioners recommend adding Manuka Honey to the drink. I don’t. I don’t crave sugar 24/7. (If you do, you may well have candida.) I don’t believe that a substance as precious as Manuka Honey which is one of the Earth’s best natural antibiotics should be used daily, all day long. (Raw, unfiltered honey is VERY valuable. There is no need to overindulge. I wouldn’t pop antibiotics to entertain myself, either.)

I’m not a purist. I don’t believe that living greener is reserved for vegans. I’m convinced that EVERYBODY’s health will improve if they implement only SOME common sense changes. Click To Tweet

I’m against exclusive recommendations that would tell you to stop enjoying coffee or tea. Both have their own distinct advantages and health benefits. BUT I wonder who in their right mind would choose a soft drink – which as we all know by now has detrimental effect on health – over the Apple Cider Vinegar and Turmeric drink. Nobody can become obese, develop diabetes or cancer due to drinking the Apple Cider Vinegar and Turmeric drink. Anyone who drinks it can raise their body’s pH level, improve the effectiveness of their immune system and even prevent the development of – or progress of – most dreaded diseases.
Try it!

P.S. To the critics of therapeutic use of Turmeric who advocate for the use of Curcumin, alone: the growers of Turmeric – who used it for millennia and successfully managed to stave off Alzheimer’s disease and dementia – didn’t have the technology to isolate Curcumin….. Another thing, mega doses of Curcumin didn’t produce significant breakthroughs in clinical trials. Long term, consistent use of Turmeric, did.
