About Green Self Care

The mission of Green Self-Care is to help you learn about DIY healthcare, the importance of DIY remedies, and nutraceuticals (food-derived substances with therapeutic properties) to enable you to take better care of your health: safely, effectively, and inexpensively.

Ideally, modern healthcare would serve the patient’s best interest. That’s not always the case. When modern healthcare fails, the patient is left to his or her own devices. This could usher either resignation or determination. Green Self-Care recommends the latter.

Modern healthcare has a relatively short history. The history of healing however is ancient. Even today – in some cases – nutraceuticals have answers to questions modern medicine can’t answer at all or can answer with invasive procedures, only.

In many cases, the safety and effectiveness of nutraceuticals is superior to that of FDA-approved pharmaceutical drugs many of which get recalled. (Some unsafe pharmaceuticals don’t get recalled early enough, or at all, opening the door to lawsuits by seriously harmed patients against manufacturers of unsafe drugs.)

Time-tested, safe, and effective nutraceuticals (foods and food-derived substances with therapeutic properties) don’t get devalued over time for causing harm. Nutraceuticals – and many DIY remedies – are the predecessors of synthetic pharmaceutical drugs and remain a valid, natural alternative to pharmaceutical drugs.

Just so you know, my wisdom comes from personal misfortune. When modern healthcare failed me, I became determined to help myself. I’m not a medical professional and following the breakup with my doctor I couldn’t get prescriptions. I had to find a way to cure myself without prescription drugs. That’s how I “discovered” nutraceuticals. Having won my health battle thanks to DIY natural healthcare, nutracuticals, and DIY remedies, I continued learning until I became an expert.

In the process, I became convinced that DIY remedies and nutraceuticals are not just a substitute for pharmaceutical drugs. In many cases, they are superior to them. Since health is life, I believe that the patient is entitled to know all his or her treatment options (including natural ones!) and make an informed choice. As it is, the doctor holds a monopoly on the knowledge of existing treatment options and makes decisions for the patient. It is the patient however who has to live with the consequences of those choices.

Here comes the unfortunate part: what’s “good enough” to a doctor may not be the same as what’s “good enough” to a patient.

For the record, I’m not against modern medicine, physicians, or pharmaceuticals. (You won’t find a fake Covid-19 “cure”, false hope for terminal diseases, or snake oil on Green Self Care.)
I am against incompetent doctors who seem to be above the law and corrupted healthcare that puts profit above the patients’ welfare.
I am pro patient’s right to be well-informed and able to make decisions about his or her health.

Whether you want to live healthier, lose weight and gain energy; OR are struggling with health issues: no one cares about your health more than you do; no one knows your needs better than you do and, unfortunately, no one will walk the extra mile to ensure your wellness. You’d better do it YOURSELF.

DIY natural healthcare based on your knowledge of your needs, and appropriate use of nutraceuticals, including DIY remedies, will help you maintain and/or restore your good health while helping you avoid dangerous side effects of pharmaceutical drugs and – in some cases! – invasive (sometimes, irreversible) medical procedures.

So, why Green Self-Care? Green because it’s all-natural. Self-Care because ultimately YOU are – and should be! – in the driver’s seat when it comes to your health and well-being.
