Green Self Care – and Los Angeles Wellness Coach – gives back to humanity! I partnered with One Human Community and I’m launching a series of DIY Healthy Living classes for low-income families in San Fernando Valley.
One Human Community is a grassroots community organization which helps low-income families in San Fernando Valley deal with hardship. They hold used clothing giveaways and toy giveaways for Christmas. They are in the process of becoming a non-profit organization with the goal of not just relieving poverty but preventing poverty in the first place by providing educational support to underprivileged children and youth.
Los Angeles Wellness Coach believes that good health and healthcare are a RIGHT, not a privilege. We all know that buying fresh, organic and healthy is out of reach of many families. It is true that the cost of healthy products and organically grown foods is higher and the prices reflect it. In practice however, even though the pricing is reality-based, the access to healthier alternatives translates into economic discrimination: “If your family can’t afford to pay for healthy products and foods, you can’t be healthy. Good health is for those who can afford it.”
It shouldn’t be this way. There are alternatives. They may involve a little more work, but whether living healthy is on your budget or not, you’ll be able to significantly reduce your family’s exposure to toxic chemicals with little or no additional expense.
The classes are FREE to attend. Each class is packed with a step-by-step advice to living healthier regardless of a family’s budget. (A proof of income is required at the door.)
